Dating by your Design
Dating in this modern world rarely feels simple. The overwhelming volume of guidance, along with the multitude of platforms for finding connection can create great confusion, leading to the whole dating process feeling like an exhausting chore that endlessly requires our energy and attention.
When discussing this topic with others, the idea that dating can feel enjoyable and in flow is generally perceived to be unrealistic. But I whole-heartedly believe it’s possible. In fact, I’m in it right now.
In contemplating my Human Design chart in the context of dating, the ability to cut through the noise of the ‘shoulds’ became available, landing on an approach that has created excitement, enjoyment, openness and a great sense of trust in each and every experience and connection.
The greatest way we trip ourselves up in dating is through expectation. I was once taught that '“an expectation is a premeditated resentment” - and oh how this has proven true for me over and over again, especially in partnership.
In opposition to the expectation, is trust. By understanding ourselves, and fully believing in all we have to offer in relationship, we can land in a place of total trust in our ability to create and build meaningful connections. Through integrating our Human Design we can also come to trust that our greatest route to creating that which we seek is by being as true to ourselves as possible.

FOR THE MANIFESTORS
Your energy is big. It is bold, and it is impactful. It is important that you seek connection with those who not only value getting to receive this energy from you, but who also encourage you to be big. Find the ones who find your energy exciting, the ones who never make you feel you have to play small. Practice showing up to every encounter in your fullness, the sooner you show the power of your energy the sooner you know if the connection is for you or not.
FOR THE PROJECTORS
Recognition is key. Projectors are designed to go deep in their connections, and to go deep quickly. In order to access this depth, it is important that you feel very seen and recognized for what you offer to the connection. But this recognition can’t be forced - it is against your nature to ‘prove’ your value without first receiving curiosity from the other. If you are not feeling as though the other truly sees you (or is showing the curiosity to try), then resist any urge to attempt to ‘make them see you’. Trust that you will be invited into the connections that are for you through their curiosity and recognition of you.
FOR THE GENERATORS
AND MANIFESTING GENERATORS
Follow what lights you up - in every decision made in the dating process. If someone suggests an app to try, run it through the filter of ‘does this feel exciting’? If you match with someone, if you are asked on a date, if you are contemplating a next step - tune into the body. Does it light you up? Or does it feel heavy in the system?
This is also key for creating opportunities for yourself. The more you can get your body into that uplifting, energetic state of joy, the more magnetic you become.
FOR THE REFLECTORS
Give yourself space in this process of dating. For Reflectors, there really is no rush. When you allow time for things to unfold you may notice repeating signs - a name popping up in conversation, a lyric of a song, bumping into someone on the street. These are all presenting as a gentle little push in a certain direction. Resist the mind’s desire to investigate and to ‘know’ the answer before it’s ready to be revealed. Trust in giving things time and the repeating patterns will eventually land you in a place of undeniable clarity.
